O2 extends 5G service to over a dozen other cities
O2 5G launched in October in Edinburgh, Cardiff, Belfast, Leeds and Slough
Mobile operator O2 has expanded its 5G network to a further 13 cities across the UK.
Coverage extended to Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Liverpool, Newcastle, Bradford, Sheffield, Coventry, Nottingham, Norwich, Bristol, Derby and Stoke.
O2 5G launched in October in Edinburgh, Cardiff, Belfast, Leeds and Slough and started its rollout after competing operators EE, Vodafone and Three started operations earlier this year.
Derek McManus of O2 parent company Telefonica UK said: “5G will revolutionize the way people and businesses use mobile connectivity and open up tremendous opportunities for our economy and society.”
